Building a Stronger, Healthier Vallejo + Together

“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” — Coretta Scott King

A stronger Vallejo begins with neighbors supporting neighbors.

Every day, people in our community experience stress, loneliness, emotional struggles, and mental health challenges. Often, the first person they turn to is not a mental health professional ~ it is a friend, family member, neighbor, coworker, or someone they trust.

Many of us want to help. We simply may not know what to say or what to do.

Culture of Care is a community initiative in Vallejo focused on enhancing mental health support. It empowers residents through training programs like Mental Health First Aid, enabling them to recognize challenges and connect neighbors to essential resources, fostering a healthier and more supportive community.

Together, we can learn to recognize when someone may be struggling, respond with compassion, and help connect them with appropriate support.

You don’t need to be a mental health professional to make a meaningful difference.
